Help communities in the Philippines become more resilient to disasters
Preparing for a disaster rather than responding after it hits, makes our communities stronger.
The Resilient Housing Program is led by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and partners with Filipino communities and microfinance institutions to keep families safe from disasters.
The program aims to increase access to safe shelter for vulnerable families by enabling them to access loans for rebuilding and strengthening their homes. It further equips loan recipients with Build Back Safer (BBS) knowledge through training and rebuilding evaluations by engineers and IOM shelter experts.
By contributing, your funds will be added to a pooled fund managed by IOM, that reduces financial barriers and makes sure families can rebuild with confidence. Estimated costs of retrofitting and repairs are mentioned below:

Basic Materials
Cover needed costs associated with purchasing key components for house construction like lumber or blocks

Skills Training
Cover needed costs associated with homeowners gaining construction skills

Shelter Strengthening
Cover needed costs associated with more robust, sustainable materials like concrete foundations to ensure the longevity of a home
“I told my children, even if I die, I have built you a house where you will be safe, so that even when storms come, you will feel safe and secure.”
